For adventurous food lovers, a trip to Myanmar wouldn’t be complete without visiting the fascinating ethnic groups and villages beyond the cities.
We want to share with you one of our favourite places, Hsipaw in the hills of Shan State. Together with our local friends and guides in the area we will introduce you to traditional dishes farmed and foraged locally. Trekking in the jungle and staying with village family hosts we will show you a traditional way of life that values community and good cooking.
On this tour we get you back to nature to experience the everyday life of the Shan and Palaung people living in remote villages. Accompanied by our local guide you will see how the jungle provides the necessary cooking equipment with bamboo pots boiling on open fire or ingredients wrapped in banana leaves then grilled.
